Madrid Engineering Week (MEW) is a week fully devoted to Engineering which includes different activities focused on technology and learning. The goal is to complement university education and bring students closer to the needs of technological companies. We organize several engineering competitions, Hackathons, workshops and conferences with top professionals and professors.

One of the biggest Engineering competitions in Europe!
European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) is a 3 level team-based engineering competition made by students, for students. It is held in 19 countries across Europe in 2 categories: Innovative Design and Case Study.
In Madrid Carlos III, we organize a Local Round every year. The team who provides the most efficient and creative solution is awarded the title of BEST Engineer of Europe!
If you are a student from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, challenge yourself in EBEC and participate in the competition!

Artificial Intelligence BattleGround (AIBG) is a 24-hour Hackathon in which competing teams have to design a solution to the proposed topic using Artificial Intelligence.
The competition is formed by 8 teams of 4 participants. During a whole day, they are challenged to design a bot that is capable of independently play a game provided by the organization. To fulfill this task, the team can make use of any programming language they know.

A Datathon is a competition where individuals with skills in data analysis, programming, and related fields work together on data analysis projects in a day or two.
Participants tackle specific challenges using given datasets, employing techniques like machine learning and data visualization. Teams present their findings to judges, who evaluate based on criteria like accuracy and creativity, fostering learning and innovation in data science.

Our Local BEST Group organizes biyearly Motivational Weekends, called Carlinhadas! It is one of our favorite events, and the perfect way to start every semester.
Our most experienced and newest members come together in a weekend full of trainings, discussion sessions and social activities. The goal is to strengthen the bond between our group, develop new soft skills and learn more about the international organization.
Moreover, during the year we also organize Carlinho Days and other activities to work together on the ongoing projects and learn new technical skills.
The highest decision making body in BEST!
BEST is a wide and strong network of technological students present in 86 groups all over Europe. As such, there is a need to discuss and decide together on highly important topics that affect the organization as a whole.
Twice a year, a General Assembly that gathers delegates from all Local BEST Groups is organized. Our members always attend and represent Madrid Carlos III in order to enhance the internal structure and working methods, and keep developing ourselves. It is a great opportunity to meet members from other universities and work together to make a positive impact BEST through the international involvement of local members.

Local BEST Groups are divided into 10 Regions for a better planning and supervision of their activity. BEST Madrid Carlos III corresponds to Region F, along with Aveiro, Barcelona, Delft, ENSTA Bretagne, ENSTA Paris, Glasgow, Porto, Turin and Valladolid.
Twice a year, delegates from all these Local BEST Groups gather in a Regional Meeting to share their experience and knowledge, create a bond and learn new soft skills.
In Spring 2023, the Regional Meeting was hosted in Madrid and organized by our members! Around 100 BEST members from all over Europe will come to our city for a weekend full of fun and inspiring learning experiences.
